Hyderabad, December 15:
Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, has been discharged from Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda, Hyderabad, a week after undergoing hip replacement surgery. The surgery was necessitated by a fracture resulting from a fall at his farmhouse in Erravalli.
Admitted on December 8, KCR expressed gratitude to the hospital staff for their care during his stay. Upon leaving the hospital, he returned to his residence at Nandi Nagar in Banjara Hills, where he was welcomed with traditional rituals by family members. BRS MLAs, leaders, and well-wishers gathered to greet him.
During his recovery, KCR is expected to use walkers for assistance. The hip replacement surgery on his left hip may take six to eight weeks for full recovery, according to doctors.
Various political figures, including Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had visited KCR during his hospital stay. Despite his appeal to avoid hospital visits due to the inconvenience caused to other patients, several BRS leaders, workers, and well-wishers had gathered at the hospital.
KCR, who recently lost power to the Congress party, had been staying at his farmhouse in Erravalli and had been meeting party leaders and supporters. He assured a swift recovery and pledged to be back in the midst of the people soon.
