
Tragic Collision on National Highway Claims Lives in Devarapalli, Vijayawada
New Year Celebration Ends in Grief for Vizag Family

In a heart-wrenching incident, a collision between two cars on the national highway near Devarapalli claimed two lives and left seven others critically injured. The accident occurred as an Ertiga, en route from Vijayawada to Rajahmundry, suffered a tire puncture and inadvertently took the wrong route on the highway, resulting in a collision with another oncoming car.
The victims, all belonging to the same family and returning from Hyderabad to Vizag after New Year celebrations, faced the tragic consequences of the mishap. The deceased have been identified as Divya Priya (25), Ramadevi (50), and 19-month-old Ganiska, who succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Devarapalli Hospital.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when the Ertiga, traveling from Nandigama to Vizag, veered into the wrong route at high speed, colliding with a car heading towards Eluru. Seven individuals were in one car, while four occupied the other. Immediate police response led to the injured being rushed to the nearby Devarapalli Hospital, where efforts to save lives were unfortunately in vain for two individuals.
According to police reports, a case has been registered, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident. The police have assured that necessary action will be taken against those found responsible for the tragic incident, which cast a somber shadow on the New Year celebrations for the affected family.
