Subheading: Quick Response by Security Personnel Averts Tragedy at Indiranagar Metro Station

Bengaluru, Jan 2 – In a startling incident on Tuesday evening, a woman at Indiranagar Metro Station risked her life by jumping onto the tracks, where 750 KV electricity flows, to retrieve a mobile phone she had dropped. The incident unfolded at 6:45 p.m., prompting immediate intervention by security personnel and resulting in a brief disruption of Metro services on the Purple line during peak hours.

Security personnel, upon spotting the woman on the tracks, promptly alerted the control room. Electricity was immediately disconnected, preventing a potential tragedy. The swift response by the security team ensured the safety of the woman, averting any harm due to the high voltage.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) confirmed the incident, clarifying that the passenger had descended onto the tracks to retrieve her phone. Security measures were activated to safeguard her during the rescue operation. Once the phone was recovered, the woman, assisted by a co-passenger, safely returned to the platform. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety guidelines at metro stations and the potential risks associated with unauthorized access to the tracks.
