BJP Likely to Field Raja Singh’s Close Aide, T Amar Singh, as Hyderabad LS Candidate
Hyderabad January 31
In a strategic move for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to nominate T Amar Singh, a key associate of Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh, as their candidate for the Hyderabad Parliament seat. Singh, whose suspension from the party was lifted just days before the recent Assembly polls, is overseeing the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.

Amar Singh had previously contested from the Karwan Assembly constituency in the 2023 elections but faced defeat against All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s (AIMIM) Kausar Mohiuddin. Despite losing, Singh secured the second position with over 41,000 votes.
The AIMIM, led by senior Owaisi, has held the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat since 1984. However, recent criticism from certain sections of Muslims has raised speculation about the party’s stronghold. The Yakutpura Assembly seat, won by AIMIM in the November 2023 polls with a margin of just over 800 votes, serves as a significant indicator of potential challenges.

Political analysts suggest that the AIMIM could face a tough competition if a strong Muslim candidate, possibly from the Congress, enters the race. The only plausible scenario for AIMIM’s defeat, as per one analyst, is if a robust Muslim candidate divides their votes, paving the way for a BJP victory in a multi-cornered contest.
Asaduddin Owaisi triumphed in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls with an impressive 5.17 lakh votes, while BJP’s Bhagvanth Rao secured the second position with approximately 2.35 lakh votes. With Congress currently in power in Telangana, the AIMIM might encounter a formidable opponent if the Congress decides to field a strong candidate for the Hyderabad seat.
While the AIMIM winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat seems likely, the emerging dynamics and potential contenders could make the upcoming election a closely watched and contested affair.

Amar Singh Ready to Contest Hyderabad Parliament Seat as BJP Candidate
In a significant development, T Amar Singh has expressed his readiness to contest as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate for the Hyderabad Parliament seat. With strong ties to Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh and extensive experience as an MLA for four terms, Amar Singh’s decision adds a new dimension to the political landscape.
The convergence of Amar Singh’s association with Raja Singh and the strategic placement of Goshamahal constituency within the Hyderabad Parliament jurisdiction becomes a focal point in this political maneuver. As a trusted aide, Amar Singh’s candidacy marks a strategic move by the BJP to make inroads into the stronghold traditionally dominated by Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM.
The prospect of the lotus blooming in the Owaisi fort is hinted at, with the BJP potentially leveraging Amar Singh’s local connections and political experience. This raises questions about the MIM’s political history and the trident strategy involving Congress, MBT, and BJP. The dynamic trident strategy seems to be pointing towards BJP gaining momentum in the region.

Amar Singh’s previous experience as an MLA, notably facing challenges in the Old Town area, adds an interesting layer to his candidacy. The news suggests that the BJP is strategically positioning itself to challenge the existing political landscape in Hyderabad, bringing a new narrative to the upcoming elections.
The unfolding political scenario indicates a potential shift in dynamics, with Amar Singh’s candidacy becoming a focal point in the broader strategy employed by the BJP in the Hyderabad Parliament constituency.
