
In a significant development, the Congress party has unveiled its initial roster of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad. Out of the 17 parliamentary seats in Telangana, nominations for four constituencies have been confirmed. The presidium, spearheaded by party president Mallikarjuna Kharge, CPP leader Sonia Gandhi, and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, convened at the AICC headquarters on Thursday to deliberate over candidate selection across various states including Telangana, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, Tripura, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Manipur.
Among the finalized candidates for Telangana, Suresh Shetkar has been named for Zaheerabad, Sunita Mahender Reddy for Chevella, Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy for Nalgonda, and Balram Naik for Mahabubabad. Notably, Vamsichander Reddy has already been declared as the MP nominee for Mahabubnagar.


The crucial meeting saw the participation of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, State Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Party State Affairs In-charge Deepadasmunshi, and senior party stalwarts including Jairam Ramesh, Adhirranjan Chaudhary, Ambikasoni, Mukulwasnik, and TM Singhdev. Rahul Gandhi contributed virtually to the deliberations.
