Hyderabad, March 11: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his wife Geetha visited the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri on Monday, marking a significant religious engagement in the Yadadri Bhongir district, approximately 70 km from Hyderabad.

Partaking in the Brahmotsavam festivities at the ancient cave shrine, the Chief Minister and his spouse joined in a special puja, accompanied by the resonant recitation of Vedic hymns. As a gesture of reverence, Revanth Reddy presented silk robes and ‘mutyala talambralu’ to the revered deities, representing the state government.

The Chief Minister was warmly received with traditional honors by the temple priests and officials upon his arrival. Alongside him were Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, and several MLAs.

Adorned in traditional attire, Revanth Reddy and his ministerial entourage reached Yadagirigutta via helicopter, proceeding through the newly laid roads up to the hill.

This visit marked Revanth Reddy’s maiden pilgrimage to Yadadri since assuming office as the Chief Minister.

The renowned temple of Telangana has been embellished for an 11-day Brahmotsavam, signaling a period of devout celebration.

Previously, the temple underwent extensive renovations under the purview of the former BRS government, incurring costs exceeding Rs 1,800 crore.

In March 2022, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the refurbished temple, restoring the sanctum sanctorum of the lion god after a hiatus of six years.

Having proposed the development of the Yadadri temple in line with the opulence of the Venkateshwara Swamy temple, one of the nation’s wealthiest temples located in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, KCR embarked on this endeavor upon assuming office as the inaugural Chief Minister of Telangana in 2014.
