In a recent development, BRS MLC Kavitha, detained in Delhi’s Tihar Jail over a liquor case, has been granted certain privileges by the Rouse Avenue Court. The court has directed the Tihar Jail superintendent to allow Kavitha to receive home-cooked food and arrange her own bedding, including essentials like a mattress, footwear, clothes, blankets, and books during her incarceration.

However, the court’s decision to reject Kavitha’s bail petition has sent shockwaves through the BRS cadre. She has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody until April 9, with orders for her transfer to Tihar Jail.

Despite this setback, there’s a glimmer of hope as the court has slated a full hearing on Kavitha’s interim bail petition for April 1. Notably, her plea for interim bail, citing her son’s exams, was not considered during the recent proceedings.

Amidst the legal proceedings, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sought her custody for an additional 15 days. While the court’s decision to remand her is significant, there’s anticipation regarding further developments during her custody period.
