Stockholm, May 22, 2024 — Leading caller identification app Truecaller has announced a new partnership with Microsoft to integrate the tech giant’s ‘Personal Voice’ technology from Azure AI Speech. This collaboration will enable Truecaller users to create a digital version of their own voice for use within the app’s AI Assistant.
First introduced in 2022, Truecaller’s AI Assistant leverages various AI technologies to manage phone calls automatically. The Assistant can screen calls, take messages, respond on behalf of the user, or record calls for later review.
Raphael Mimoun, Product Director and General Manager of Truecaller Israel, highlighted the significance of this new feature: “The personal voice feature allows our users to use their own voice, enabling the digital assistant to sound just like them when handling incoming calls. This groundbreaking capability not only adds a touch of familiarity and comfort for the users but also showcases the power of AI in transforming the way we interact with our digital assistants.”
With the integration of Microsoft’s Personal Voice technology, users who already have the AI Assistant on their app can now ensure that callers hear a replicated and authentic version of their voice, rather than a generic digital assistant voice. This personalized touch aims to enhance user experience by making interactions with the AI Assistant more natural and relatable.
The rollout of this new feature is being done gradually across all of Truecaller’s markets, ensuring that users worldwide will soon have access to this innovative capability.
