INDIA Bloc Confident of Securing Over 295 Seats in Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections
In a unified declaration on Saturday, leaders of the INDIA bloc expressed confidence that their alliance will secure more than 295 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The announcement came after a strategic meeting held at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence, just hours before the conclusion of the seventh and final phase of polling.
Key Statements from the Meeting
Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress President:
“Our alliance is winning at least 295 seats. It will be more than that for sure. We have arrived at this figure after holding extensive consultations with all our partners. They have been briefed by people in their respective regions and this is a junta’s survey.”
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister:
“After getting feedback from everywhere, including voters and leaders, it is certain that the INDIA bloc is getting 295-plus seats. The BJP-NDA will get around 235. So we, on our own, are moving ahead to make a solid and stable government.”
Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party Chief:
“BJP will lose on all seats in Uttar Pradesh,” he stated confidently, predicting a significant victory for the INDIA bloc in the state.
Tejashwi Yadav, RJD Leader:
“INDIA bloc will get 295-plus seats. India is winning, and the people of the country are winning. We will decide on the PM later on. Their (BJP’s) ‘400-paar’ film flopped in the first phase itself.”
Meeting Attendees and Alliance Strength
Several prominent leaders attended the meeting, including former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, T. R. Baalu, Farooq Abdullah, and D. Raja (CPI). The INDIA bloc leaders, emboldened by regional feedback and extensive consultations, are optimistic about their prospects in the Lok Sabha elections.
As the results are set to be declared on June 4, the INDIA bloc’s prediction of winning over 295 seats sets the stage for a potentially transformative shift in the Indian political landscape. The alliance is poised to challenge the BJP-NDA’s hold, with predictions suggesting the latter will secure around 235 seats.
Stay tuned for further updates as the final results are announced.
