
19 Students from GVR Karate Academy Selected for National Karate Competition
Hyderabad, 31 July 2024 – Nineteen students from the GVR Karate Academy in Telangana have been selected to compete in the 10th Shotokan National Karate Competition, which will be held on August 4th in Bengaluru. Among the selected students, twelve are girls and seven are boys.
Dr. GS Gopal Reddy, Director of the GVR Karate Academy, expressed his pride in the students’ achievements. Central Zone Additional DCP B. Anand also extended his congratulations to the selected students, emphasizing the importance of balancing academics with physical activities for children.
Today’s children are the citizens of tomorrow. Self-defense education is crucial, especially for girls, to prevent incidents like those that recently occurred in Bangalore. It is essential for women and girls to learn self-defense,” said DCP Anand.

He also highlighted the importance of schemes aimed at maintaining the honor of Telangana state.
The program saw participation from Central Zone Inspector G. Kishan and Academy Black Belts including G. Amrita Reddy, G. Gana Santoshini Reddy, Shiny, Yogini, Nidhi Verma, and Avighna Venkata Reddy, along with other students from the academy.
