Chief Minister’s Team Meets World Bank President to Discuss Telangana’s Development

Washington D.C.August 07,2024— Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, currently visiting the United States, held a significant meeting with World Bank President Ajay Banga. The consultation focused on Telangana’s development, particularly in the areas of Skill Development, Net Zero, Future City, and Citizen Health projects.

The World Bank expressed readiness to participate in Telangana’s future development plans. During the hour-long meeting, a roadmap was outlined for upcoming projects, which include a Riverfront Project, Net Zero City, Healthcare, Diagnostics, and Health Profile initiatives.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Jayesh Ranjan, Chief Secretary of the Finance Department Ramakrishna Rao, and CMO officials Seshadri, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, and Ajith Reddy. The discussions covered various issues such as living standards, environmental sustainability, skill development, job creation, and economic sustainability.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that all the prestigious programs initiated by his government have gained importance. He assured that the promised projects will be implemented and completed expeditiously with the utmost transparency. A team of experts from various departments will be established to accelerate the feasibility of these projects.

The World Bank team lauded the balanced approach of the Chief Minister in developing both Telangana State and Hyderabad, expressing confidence in positive outcomes. Executive Director of the World Bank, Parameswaran Iyer, commended the Telangana government’s comprehensive development strategy and public governance.

This marks the first instance of Telangana collaborating with an international financial institution like the World Bank. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already prioritized the Musi Revival Project, Skill University, Citizen Healthcare, and Hyderabad 4.0 Future City. The World Bank’s support is expected to significantly bolster the Chief Minister’s strategies for these key projects.
