One of the highlights of the event will be the inauguration of the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital, built at a cost of ₹90 crore. Shankaracharya Swami Vijayendra Saraswati will be present for the ceremony. Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the expansion of Varanasi Airport and the construction of a new terminal building.

Expansion of Health, Sports, and Education Initiatives

Apart from the eye hospital, PM Modi will inaugurate projects that span various sectors, including health, sports, and education. He will also launch the expansion of the Sigra Sports Complex and lay the foundation for the ₹380.13 crore Sigra Stadium. During his visit to the stadium, he will address a gathering of athletes, intellectuals, public representatives, and BJP workers.

In addition to the eye hospital and sports complex, 14 other projects will be dedicated to the public. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for two major schemes costing ₹2,874.17 crore.

New Free Food Programme to be Announced

PM Modi is also expected to announce a new free food initiative by the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. In collaboration with Natyakotam Sanstha, the “Satvik Sanatan Kitchen” will provide food to students from 16 Sanskrit schools and attendants of three hospitals. The programme, which was successfully trialed at the Annakshetra in the Godaulia area, initially benefited around 3,000 people, with plans to expand to 5,000 beneficiaries.

Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, CEO of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, noted that PM Modi is likely to unveil this initiative during his visit.

Grand Welcome Planned for PM Modi

Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and several other senior leaders will join the Prime Minister for the occasion. The BJP’s Kashi region president, Dilip Patel, said PM Modi will receive a grand welcome with drums and flowers at various locations throughout Varanasi. Hoardings and posters celebrating the Prime Minister’s visit have been placed across the city, including a large poster depicting PM Modi with 10 hands representing various government schemes.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Varanasi at 1 p.m. and depart for Delhi by 6 p.m. Upon his arrival at Babatpur International Airport, he will be welcomed by Chief Minister Adityanath and Governor Patel, along with other key cabinet ministers and both Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh.

The visit marks another significant development in PM Modi’s long-term vision for Varanasi, with key infrastructure projects aimed at improving healthcare, sports facilities, and regional connectivity.
