“Ratnakar Rao, Sadanandam Lead Telangana Power Engineers Association”
Hyderabad, November 15: Ratnakar Rao has been elected as the State President of the Telangana State Power Engineers Association, while Sadanandam has taken charge as the General Secretary. The election results were announced on Friday by the returning officer, Summaiah.
The Association, representing 4,916 engineers from Assistant Engineer (AE) to Executive Director levels across the state, held elections for its Central Committee, as well as committees for Transco, Genco, and NPDCL. All positions in these committees were filled through unanimous elections. However, elections for the SPDCL Committee were conducted on November 13 through a secret ballot system. The voter turnout for the SPDCL elections was notable, with 80.70% of eligible engineers casting their votes.
Following the counting of votes, JL Janapriya was declared the Associate President, and M. Venkateshwarlu was elected as the Additional Secretary.
Speaking after their victory, the newly elected State President Ratnakar Rao and Secretary General Sadanandam expressed their gratitude to the engineering community for entrusting them with the leadership. They pledged to address the challenges faced by power engineers in coordination with the state government and power utilities.
Ratnakar Rao emphasized the critical role played by engineers in ensuring the efficient functioning of the power sector and promised to work tirelessly to enhance their professional development and resolve any issues related to their welfare. Sadanandam highlighted the importance of strengthening communication between engineers and management to achieve the collective goals of the association.
The Power Engineers Association plays a pivotal role in addressing policy issues and promoting the interests of its members across the state. The newly elected team aims to continue this legacy by fostering unity and advancing the interests of power engineers in Telangana.
