Tamil Superstar Vijay’s Party TVK Refutes Alliance Speculation with AIADMK
Tamil superstar Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), dismissed reports suggesting a possible alliance with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Official Statement Denies Rumors
TVK General Secretary N. Anand called the reports baseless and alleged that they were fabricated to hinder the party’s rise. “A major Tamil daily has published completely untrue information about an alliance between TVK and the AIADMK, based on baseless claims. This news is completely false, without evidence or foundation,” Anand clarified.
The TVK reiterated its commitment to contest the 2026 elections independently, aiming for a decisive victory and promising governance focused on the welfare of Tamil people.
Inaugural Rally and Party Ideology
At the inaugural rally on October 27 in Villupuram, Vijay outlined the TVK’s core ideology, combining Dravidian ideals with Tamil nationalism. The rally drew a massive crowd of over 300,000 attendees, solidifying the party’s presence in Tamil Nadu politics.
Vijay criticized the DMK for its family-centric governance and alleged exploitation of the Dravidian identity for personal gain. He also condemned the BJP for its divisive politics and opposed the “One Nation, One Election” proposal.
Party Resolutions and Initiatives
During its executive council meeting, TVK passed 29 resolutions, including:
- Opposing the One Nation, One Election proposal.
- Criticizing the DMK for delaying the caste-based census and failing to abolish NEET.
- Advocating for the reintroduction of monthly electricity billing.
The party announced a statewide yatra starting December 2 in Coimbatore and concluding in Tirunelveli on December 27. Vijay plans to connect with the public, share his vision, and gather feedback during this tour.
Addressing Alliance Speculations
Speculation about a potential alliance with AIADMK arose after unverified reports suggested Vijay held discussions with AIADMK leaders, allegedly seeking the Deputy Chief Minister’s post and 60 Assembly seats. However, TVK categorically denied these claims.
Anand reiterated, “The political path of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is for the pure benefit of Tamil people. Our aim is to follow our leader’s ideology, achieve massive victory through public support, and form a good government.”
Vijay’s Vision for TVK
Vijay urged TVK cadres to address criticisms from rivals constructively and respectfully, particularly against leaders like Naam Tamilar Katchi’s Seeman, who recently criticized him. Vijay emphasized honesty, equality, social justice, and secularism as TVK’s guiding principles.
As Vijay prepares for his statewide tour, the TVK aims to carve its unique identity in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, staying clear of alliances and focusing on grassroots connections.
