Hyderabad, December 8: In a display of patriotism and camaraderie, Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi and the ace fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran aerobatic team paid a visit to Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. The meeting brought together generations of aviators, celebrating their shared dedication to the nation’s service.
For Uttam Kumar Reddy, a decorated former fighter pilot, the encounter was a poignant reunion with his Air Force roots. Having flown advanced MiG-21 and MiG-23 fighter aircraft during his tenure, Reddy spent years defending India’s skies along sensitive borders with Pakistan and China. Reflecting on his service, he said, “Those were the most fulfilling years of my life. Serving in the IAF, flying from forward airbases, and contributing to the security of our nation was both an honor and a duty I will always cherish.”
The Surya Kiran aerobatic team, renowned as the ambassadors of the Indian Air Force, is globally acclaimed for its stunning aerial displays. Their visit was a tribute to Reddy’s illustrious service and a celebration of the values of courage, precision, and unwavering patriotism.
Praising the Air Force, Reddy remarked, “The Indian Air Force continues to demonstrate unmatched skill and bravery, defending our borders and rising to every challenge. Their commitment inspires immense pride in every Indian citizen.”
The visit occurred just hours before the Surya Kiran team dazzled thousands with a breathtaking air show at Tank Bund in Hyderabad. This aerial spectacle, a key event of the ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’ celebrations, marked the first anniversary of the Congress government in Telangana. As the jets painted the sky with precision formations and vibrant colors, the audience was reminded of the deep bond between the armed forces and the people they protect.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, who also served on the Parliamentary Committee on Defence from 2019 to 2023, emphasized the need to prioritize the welfare of defence personnel. “Our servicemen and women, both active and retired, and their families make immense sacrifices for the nation. It is our responsibility to ensure they receive respect, proper facilities, and support,” he said. He assured that the Congress government in Telangana is committed to supporting these brave individuals and their families.
Looking ahead, Reddy encouraged young Indians to draw inspiration from the Air Force and initiatives like the Surya Kiran team. “We must prepare future generations to carry forward the legacy of patriotism and valor,” he stressed.
During the meeting, the Surya Kiran pilots shared insights into the dynamic operations of the Air Force and discussed the evolving role of armed forces in today’s complex global security environment. The dialogue further reinforced the bond between those who have served and those who continue to serve.
The meeting concluded on a profoundly patriotic note, with both Reddy and the Surya Kiran team reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the nation. The event not only highlighted the personal connections shared by those in the Air Force but also served as a reminder for all citizens to honor and support the armed forces.
