Mumbai Lawyer Denies Accusations of Illegal Immigration in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case

Mumbai, Jan 19: The ongoing investigation into the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case took a new turn after the state-appointed lawyer of the accused dismissed allegations of the accused being an illegal immigrant.

While confirming that the accused is a Bangladeshi national, the lawyer stated that he is not an illegal immigrant and possesses valid documents. The lawyer also refuted Mumbai Police’s claims that the accused moved to Mumbai six months ago, asserting instead that he has been residing in the city for the past 7-8 years.

The case has grown increasingly complex, with discrepancies arising between statements from different parties involved.

Incident Details

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, at around 2:15 am, when the accused reportedly broke into Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence. After attacking the house help, the intruder was confronted by Saif, who attempted to defend his family barehanded. During the altercation, Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were near his spine and deemed serious.

The actor was reportedly awakened by noise coming from his son Jeh’s room. Upon investigating, he found the burglar arguing with their house help and intervened to protect them.

At the time, Kareena Kapoor Khan and other family members were present in the house, asleep during the attack.

Actor’s Health Update

Saif Ali Khan’s team later issued a statement confirming that the actor is in stable condition and out of danger. He is under medical supervision and is expected to be discharged from the hospital on January 21.
