Davos 2025: Telangana Secures Investments Worth ₹1,78,950 Crore, Promises 49,500 Jobs
Hyderabad to Emerge as Data and AI Hub

Davos, January 23, 2025: Telangana has made a significant mark at the World Economic Forum in Davos, securing investment commitments worth ₹1,78,950 crore from 20 domestic and global companies. These investments are expected to create 49,500 jobs across the state. Led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Sridhar Babu, the “Telangana Rising Team” played a pivotal role in attracting industries to the state.

In comparison to last year’s Davos visit, where investments totaled ₹40,232 crore, this year’s commitments have more than quadrupled. Key agreements were signed in the fields of data centers, artificial intelligence, energy, and manufacturing, cementing Hyderabad’s status as a hub for innovation and development.

Amazon’s ₹60,000 Crore Data Center Investment

A major highlight was Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) decision to invest ₹60,000 crore in Hyderabad to expand its data center infrastructure. AWS Global Public Policy Vice President Michael Punke met CM Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu to discuss the project. This investment will support the growth of AI-driven cloud services, reinforcing Hyderabad’s position as the data center capital of India.

Tilman Global, Blackstone, and Ursa Clusters Lead the Way

  • Tilman Global Holdings announced an investment of ₹15,000 crore.
  • Blackstone Lumina will establish a ₹4,500 crore, 150 MW data center in Hyderabad in collaboration with JCK Infra.
  • Ursa Clusters, a US-based company, signed an MoU for a ₹5,000 crore AI data center featuring hybrid AI chips.

Energy and Manufacturing Projects

  • Akshath Green Tech (Maitra Energy Group) will invest ₹7,000 crore in Hyderabad to set up a solar cell and module manufacturing unit with a capacity of 6.9 GW each.
  • Megha Engineering committed ₹15,000 crore to various infrastructure projects.
  • Sun Petrochemicals announced a massive ₹45,500 crore investment.

Infosys, Wipro, and HCL Expand Operations

  • Infosys will expand its Pocharam IT campus.
  • Wipro plans to establish a new IT center at Gopanapalli, creating 5,000 jobs.
  • HCL Technologies announced a new tech center, which will also generate 5,000 jobs.

Suhana Masala’s Center of Excellence in Sangareddy

Suhana Masala, in collaboration with the Eco Factory Foundation, will set up a spice production extension center in Sangareddy. This initiative aims to train 25,000-30,000 farmers in modern spice production techniques, ensuring international standards and marketing support.

Hyderabad: A Preferred Destination for Investment

CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that Hyderabad’s liberal industrial policies, Clean and Green Policy, and the proposed “Future City” have significantly contributed to attracting investments. Minister Sridhar Babu stated that Telangana’s roadmap for the Young India Skill University, Regional Ring Road, and Metro expansion also impressed industrialists.

Other Notable Investments

  • Unilever will establish a palm oil factory and refining unit.
  • Skyroot Aerospace will invest ₹500 crore.
  • Control S and Sifi Technologies committed ₹10,000 crore each.
  • Rankey Group and JSW pledged ₹5,000 crore and ₹800 crore, respectively.

The Telangana delegation’s success at Davos highlights the state’s growing appeal as an investment hub, driven by robust policies and a visionary leadership.
