In a landmark announcement, Telangana is set to host the 72nd Miss World pageant from May 7 to May 31, 2025, with the grand finale scheduled in Hyderabad. This prestigious event will bring together participants from over 120 countries, all competing for the coveted title while promoting the Miss World Organisation’s mission of ‘Beauty with a Purpose.’
Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of Miss World Ltd, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, highlighting Telangana’s rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. She stated that partnering with the Telangana government allows the organization to showcase the state’s incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience. This collaboration aims to empower communities, celebrate diversity, and make a lasting impact through a shared commitment to meaningful causes.

Smita Sabharwal, Principal Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs for Telangana, emphasized that hosting the Miss World Festival provides an opportunity to present the state’s heritage, innovation, and hospitality to the world. The event will serve as a platform to showcase Telangana’s rich handloom legacy, spectacular destinations, delectable cuisine, art forms, and timeless crafts. Sabharwal added that this endeavor aims to tell the world that Telangana is ready to showcase its spirit, warmth, and boundless potential.

As preparations commence, Telangana extends an invitation to the world with the tagline ‘Telangana, Zarur Aana,’ emphasizing its commitment to beauty, culture, and global unity. The state is eager to welcome visitors and participants, offering them an opportunity to experience its unique blend of tradition and modernity.
This marks the third time India will host the Miss World pageant, with previous editions held in 1996 and 2023. The event is expected to significantly boost tourism and provide a global platform to highlight Telangana’s advancements and cultural heritage.


Nandini Gupta, the winner of Femina Miss India World 2023, will represent India in this year’s Miss World pageant. To date, six Indians have won the prestigious Miss World title: Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chhillar (2017).
The upcoming Miss World Festival in Telangana promises to be a grand celebration of beauty, culture, and purpose, uniting people from around the globe in the heart of India.
