According to her statement, the couple had endured years of domestic abuse, including mental and physical harassment. She also accused Om Prakash of recently attempting to poison their food by mixing insulin and sanitizer, which she described as the final provocation.

Police sources indicate the murder may have been fueled by a combination of longstanding domestic disputes, property issues, and psychological stress. Allegations have surfaced that Om Prakash transferred most of his assets to his son and sister, reportedly sidelining Pallavi — a move that may have deepened the discord. Investigators are also probing claims regarding Pallavi’s mental health, as part of their comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the murder.

Pallavi has been taken into custody, and her daughter — who was present during the incident — is also being questioned to determine her knowledge or possible involvement. During interrogation, Pallavi allegedly told investigators, “I killed a vile, abusive man, and I feel no remorse.”
