Tata Motors to Pass on Full GST Benefit; Cars, SUVs to Get Cheaper by Up to ₹1.55 Lakh

Mumbai, Sep 5: Tata Motors on Friday announced that it will pass on the entire benefit of the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reduction on passenger vehicles to customers. The revised prices will take effect from September 22, coinciding with the implementation of the new GST rates.

Calling the tax cut a “progressive and timely decision,” the company said the move will make personal mobility more affordable for millions of Indians.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, said the company remains committed to transferring the full benefit to customers.

“In line with the Prime Minister’s vision, the Finance Minister’s intent, and our Customer First philosophy, Tata Motors will fully honour the intent and spirit of this reform by passing on the entire benefit of the reduction in GST,” Chandra said.

“This will make our popular range of cars and SUVs even more accessible across segments, enabling first-time buyers and accelerating the shift towards new-age mobility,” he added.

With this move, Tata’s popular cars and SUVs will become significantly cheaper, with savings ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.55 lakh, depending on the model.
