Mumbai, September 25: German luxury automaker Audi has commenced local assembly of its all-new Audi Q3 at the SAVWIPL manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, ahead of the SUV’s scheduled launch in India on October 16, 2026.
The new-generation Q3 will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine and will come with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, Audi India said in a statement.
The company described the new Q3 as a compact luxury SUV combining everyday practicality with dynamic driving capabilities. It will also feature several segment-first technologies and features aimed at enhancing its appeal among luxury vehicle buyers.
Bookings open for new Audi Q3
Customers can book the all-new Audi Q3 through the Audi India website, myAudi Connect application and authorised Audi India dealerships.
Commenting on the start of production, Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the commencement of Q3 production marked an important milestone for the company’s operations in India.
He said the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility demonstrated strong manufacturing capabilities and reflected the group’s commitment to expanding its brands in the Indian market.
Arora added that the latest Q3 would be produced in India while maintaining Audi’s global standards of quality, precision and engineering.
Audi expands local manufacturing
Local assembly of the Q3 strengthens Audi’s manufacturing presence in India and allows the company to produce one of its key compact luxury SUV models domestically.
Audi India sold around 4,510 vehicles in 2025, amid changing market conditions in the country’s luxury automobile segment. The company said improved customer confidence following the implementation of GST 2.0 provided support to the luxury car market.
Audi India had increased vehicle prices by up to 2 per cent from April 1, 2026, citing rising input costs and currency fluctuations. The price revision was applied across its model range in India.
The launch of the new Q3 is expected to add a new-generation model to Audi India’s locally assembled portfolio as the company continues to expand its presence in India’s premium SUV market.
