New Delhi, November 1: Consumers and businesses will face higher fuel-related costs as oil marketing companies have increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹10 from Sunday, November 1. Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices have also been raised by ₹1.37 per litre, marking the fourth consecutive monthly increase.
Following the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased to ₹2,820. This is the second consecutive monthly hike after a ₹62.50 increase on October 1. Prices were also raised by ₹9.50 on September 1.
Commercial LPG prices had witnessed two consecutive reductions in July and August, with cuts of ₹183.50 and ₹192 respectively. However, between February and June, prices had surged by ₹1,373 per cylinder, reaching a record high of ₹3,113.50 before declining in the subsequent months.
5-Kg LPG Cylinder Prices Revised
According to the revised price list, a 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder for a new connection is priced at ₹1,903, while a refill cylinder costs ₹782.
Meanwhile, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged. Households will continue to pay ₹942 for a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder.
Petrol and diesel prices have also remained unchanged despite the latest revisions in commercial LPG and aviation fuel rates.
ATF Prices Rise to ₹138.50 Per Litre
Aviation Turbine Fuel prices have been increased by ₹1.37 per litre, taking the price to ₹138.50 from ₹137.12 per litre with effect from November 1.
This is the fourth consecutive monthly increase in aviation fuel prices, driven by firming international benchmark rates.
ATF is a major component of airline operating expenses, accounting for up to 40 per cent of their total operating costs. The latest increase could add to the financial burden on airlines.
International Prices Influence Fuel Rates
The latest revisions in commercial LPG and ATF prices are based on movements in international benchmark prices and fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
Oil marketing companies revise LPG and ATF prices on the first day of every month. However, actual retail prices may vary across states depending on local taxes, including Value Added Tax (VAT).
