Rise from a Farmer’s Family:
Born into a humble Kuruba community (shepherd),farmer’s family on August 12, 1948, in Siddaramanahundi near Mysore, Siddaramaiah pursued higher education and worked as a lawyer and law lecturer in Mysore. Inspired by prominent farmer leader Nanjundaswamy, he entered politics as a member of the Taluka Board in 1978 and steadily climbed the ladder.

Sensational Political Journey:
Siddaramaiah gained prominence when he won a stunning victory as a Bharatiya Lok Dal candidate from the Chamundeshwari assembly seat in 1983. He went on to join the Janata Party and served as a minister in the government of CM Ramakrishna Hegde. Over the years, he held various positions, including the General Secretary of the Janata Dal Party and Finance Minister in the Janata Dal government.
Congress Association and Leadership:
After joining the Congress party in 2006, Siddaramaiah became a strong force within the party. He served as Deputy CM and Finance Minister in the Congress-JDS coalition government, earning a reputation for presenting the budget an impressive 13 times.
