Kurnool,, June 1: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of making false promises and attempting to deceive the people through his recently released manifesto.
Reddy criticized the TDP manifesto, claiming it was a mix of promises made by the Congress and the BJP during the recent elections in Karnataka. He referred to it as a concoction of promises resembling the popular South Indian dish, Bisi Bele Bath, combining elements from both parties.
“He also copied our schemes like Ammavodi, YSR Cheyutha, and YSR Rythu Bharosa to make it more attractive and tasty like Pulihara,” added the Chief Minister, referring to traditional South Indian dishes.
Reddy further accused Naidu of lacking originality, personality, character, and credibility, emphasizing his tendency to copy schemes from others.
During a public meeting in Pathikonda, Kurnool district, CM Jagan referred to the TDP manifesto as a malafide document, suggesting that it lacked sincerity and was created with ulterior motives. He highlighted the disparity between their manifestos, stating that his party’s manifesto was a reflection of the aspirations and concerns of the people of Andhra Pradesh, gathered during his padayatra (foot march).
In a scathing attack, Jagan Reddy branded Naidu as an enemy of farmers, alleging that he had betrayed the late N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), a prominent political figure in Andhra Pradesh. He accused Naidu of opportunism, insincerely praising NTR after having backstabbed him while he was alive.
Reflecting on his four years in power, CM Jagan likened Andhra Pradesh to the battleground of Kurukshetra. He described the upcoming political battle as one between the DPT (Dochuko, Panchuko, Tinuko, meaning plunder, stash, and devour) and the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), urging the public to choose wisely.
Reddy criticized Naidu’s appeal for another chance after being Chief Minister for 14 years, claiming that he had failed to deliver on his previous terms. He questioned Naidu’s track record and ability to seek votes based on his accomplishments.
Accusing the TDP of lacking values, Jagan remarked that the party was willing to stoop to any level for electoral alliances. He highlighted the TDP’s inability to find candidates in all 175 constituencies, leading them to seek alliances with other parties.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Reddy disbursed financial assistance to farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa – PM Kisan scheme for the fifth consecutive year. A total of Rs 3,923.21 crore was distributed as the first tranche of this year to 52,30,939 farmers. Each farmer received Rs 5,500 directly from the YSRCP state government and an additional Rs 2,000 from the Centre as part of the PM Kisan Yojana.
Reddy emphasized the state government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, stating that the assistance provided under the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme was not merely mentioned in the manifesto but had been consistently delivered for the past five years. He announced that Rs 61,500 had been distributed to each farmer across the state as part of the assistance program.
