
Chief Minister KCR Inaugurates 466 State-of-the-Art Ambulances and Healthcare Initiatives
Hyderabad, August 1, 2023: In a significant move to bolster emergency healthcare services in the state, Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, officially inaugurated 466 state-of-the-art ambulances at People’s Plaza. This momentous event marks a vital step in enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of emergency medical assistance for the people of Telangana. Health Minister T Harish Rao also graced the occasion and addressed the opening ceremony of the emergency vehicles.


Minister Harish Rao highlighted the substantial progress made since Telangana’s formation, with the number of ambulances increasing from 316 to 455 in the state. He emphasized improved accessibility, with one vehicle now serving every 75,000 people, compared to the previous ratio of one for every 100,000 people. He praised the efficiency of healthcare initiatives, mentioning “Amma Vodi,” which caters to 4 thousand people daily, and “108,” serving 2 thousand people per day.

The government’s proactive approach includes implementing 100-bed hospitals in each constituency to enhance healthcare facilities for all residents. Efforts to provide 50 thousand beds in government hospitals through the establishment of one medical college for each district, Four TIMS, and Warangal Health City were commended.
Addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, Minister Harish Rao assured that the medical sector is prepared to face any health challenges, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting citizens during times of illness.

Comparing Telangana’s accomplishments to BJP and Congress ruled states, he emphasized the state’s focus on progressive schemes and development initiatives.
In a remarkable gesture of support to Asha activists, Minister Harish Rao announced that the government will pay the cell phone bills and provide smartphones to newly appointed Asha workers in the Hyderabad area.
With an aim to improve emergency response times, the average ambulance arrival time has been reduced from 30 minutes to just 15 minutes, ensuring a dynamic fleet position.
Additionally, Minister Harish Rao announced a wage increase for 108 employees, recognizing their vital contributions and dedication to public service.
