Sardar Ravinder Singh, Chairman of Civil Supplies has revealed that a loan Amount of Rs.3000crores has been taken from NABARD and the farmers who have sold paddy will be paid quickly. In this regard, it was revealed that the decision was taken in the Civil Supplies Board meeting held through video conference on Friday. He said that NABARD had floated a single tender in the tenders conducted for the loan as per the directives of the central government. He said that the loan was taken from NABARD as per the norms and loan limit approved by the state government. He said that during this year’s monsoon, Civil Supplies has purchased 64.12 Lakhs metric tonnes of paddy valued at Rs 13,189 crore from 9.65 lakh farmers. Chairman said that out of the Rs 3,000 crores borrowed, up to Rs 500 crores will be paid to the farmers, while the rest will be used to repay short-term loans taken in the past.
