Agartala, October 26: In a formal ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala, former Telangana BJP leader, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, took the oath as the 20th Governor of Tripura. The ceremony was conducted by Tripura High Court Chief Justice, Aparesh Kumar Singh, who administered the oath of office, marking the transition from the previous Governor, Satyadeo Narain Arya.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by an array of distinguished guests, including Chief Minister Manik Saha, members of his cabinet, senior civil and security officials, and various dignitaries.

In his first official statement as the Governor, Reddy Nallu expressed his commitment to upholding transparency and accountability within the administration while focusing on empowering the people of Tripura. He emphasized that it is his responsibility to spearhead efforts for the state’s development and the welfare of its citizens. The newly appointed Governor conveyed his happiness and eagerness to serve the people of Tripura and contribute to the ongoing developmental process.

Indra Sena Reddy Nallu brings with him a rich political background, having served as a three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), representing the Malakpet constituency in the 1983, 1985, and 1999 elections. He also held the position of the floor leader for the BJP in the combined Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

Notably, he assumed the role of the President of the BJP in the combined state of Andhra Pradesh from 2003 to 2007 and served as the national secretary of the saffron party in 2014. Recently, Reddy Nallu was appointed as a member of the BJP’s national executive committee, further showcasing his commitment to the party’s mission.

Indra Sena Reddy Nallu is the second BJP leader hailing from Telangana to serve as a Governor, with Bandaru Dattatreya currently holding the position of Governor of Haryana.

This appointment marks a new chapter in the governance of Tripura, with Governor Reddy Nallu poised to bring his extensive experience to the role and work towards the state’s development and the well-being of its residents.
