Hyderabad, November 6: The BJP’s campaign for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections is set to receive a boost as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

PM Modi will speak at the ‘BC Atma Gourva Sabha’ (BC self-respect meeting) at the LB Stadium. This marks his first public address following the election announcement.

The BJP has pledged that if it secures victory in Telangana, it will appoint a leader from the backward classes as the chief minister.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP’s state president, and Tarun Chugh, the party’s incharge for Telangana, along with MP K. Laxman and other party leaders, visited LB Stadium on Monday to review the preparations for the public meeting.

During a public meeting in Suryapet on October 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had declared that if the BJP comes to power in Telangana, a leader from the backward classes will be chosen as the chief minister.

PM Modi had previously addressed public meetings in Telangana on October 1 and 3, which were held to inaugurate or lay the foundation stones for various development projects in Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad.

With the upcoming public meeting, the BJP aims to intensify its election campaign with a focus on the BC leader as the potential chief minister.

PM Modi is expected to address another public meeting in Hyderabad on November 11. Kishan Reddy stated that BJP national President J. P. Nadda, several Union ministers, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and senior party leaders will participate in the campaign.

The Telangana Assembly elections, comprising 119 seats, are scheduled for November 30. The BJP has announced candidates for 88 seats, including three of the four sitting Lok Sabha MPs from the state.

The possibility of an electoral alliance with the Jana Sena Party (JSP) led by actor Pawan Kalyan remains uncertain. JSP leaders have expressed their intention to contest 32 seats. Pawan Kalyan met with Amit Shah last month in Delhi to discuss the alliance, with Kishan Reddy also present during the meeting.
