In the recently concluded Telangana Assembly elections on November 30, the Election Commission of India announced a voter turnout of 70.66%. Among the 33 districts, Yadadri Bhongir district led with the highest turnout at 90.03%, while Hyderabad recorded the lowest polling at 46.68%.

The initial turnout estimate at 5 p.m. was around 64%, but it was later revised as voters in queues at that time were allowed to cast their votes, with some polling stations continuing until 9 p.m. This turnout reflects a decrease of about three percent compared to the 2018 elections when it was 73.74%.

Over 3.26 crore voters participated in deciding the fate of 2,290 candidates. The state’s total voters include 1,62,98,418 men, 1,63,01,705 women, and 2,676 transgenders.

Eleven districts witnessed a turnout of 80% or more, with Munugode constituency in Nalgonda district recording the highest at 91.51%. In contrast, Yakutpura in Hyderabad had the lowest at 39.69%.

Palair constituency in Khammam district saw a significant turnout of 90.28%, while twelve constituencies in Greater Hyderabad recorded less than 50%, with Malakpet at the second lowest with 41%.

The data indicates varying levels of political engagement across districts, showcasing the diverse participation in the democratic process.
