Revanth Reddy: From Academic Pursuits to Political Ascendancy

Hyderabad, December 5: Enumula Revanth Reddy, the fifth child of Anumula Narminha Reddy and Ramachandramma, has traversed a dynamic journey from his early education to becoming a prominent political figure in Telangana. Born on November 8, 1969, in Kondareddypalli, Vangur Mandal, his rise in politics is marked by resilience and strategic maneuvering.

Educational Background:
Revanth Reddy’s educational journey began with primary education at home, followed by studies up to the sixth standard in Tandra Mamlo. Completing high school and inter in Vanaparthi, he pursued fine arts at JNTU, Hyderabad. His academic pursuits laid the foundation for his later involvement in politics.

Political Odyssey:
Revanth Reddy entered the political arena as an ABVP student leader in 2006. His debut saw him contesting as Midjil Mandal ZPTC in Jadcharla Constituency of Mahbubnagar District, emerging victorious. Joining TDP in 2008, he contested and won the Kodandal assembly seat in 2009, defeating the Congress candidate Gurnath Reddy. In 2014, facing the same opponent, he secured another win with an increased majority. His political acumen was further demonstrated when he contested and won as the Malkajgiri MP in 2019.

His political affiliations evolved, and in 2017, he joined the Congress party, contributing significantly to its resurgence in the state. In the recently held 2023 assembly elections, Revanth Reddy contested from Kodangal and secured a resounding victory against the sitting MLA Patnam Narendra Reddy.

Personal Life:
Beyond politics, Revanth Reddy’s personal life is marked by a captivating love story. During his Inter studies at Nagarjunasagar, he fell in love with his classmate Geetha Reddy. Despite familial opposition, Revanth’s persistence led to a successful marriage on May 7, 1992. Geetha is the daughter of the former Central Minister, Jaipal Reddy’s brother, faced resistance from her family but ultimately chose to marry Revanth. The couple has a daughter named Naineesa.
