Protesters Outside Parliament Identified; Neelam Azad Previously Detained During Wrestlers’ Agitation
New Delhi, Dec 13: Neelam Azad, a 42-year-old woman arrested during the protest outside Parliament, has been identified as one of the individuals responsible for throwing smoke flares during the incident. Neelam, a resident of Jind district in Haryana, had previously been detained during the wrestlers’ agitation in Delhi in May and actively participated in the farmers’ agitation, being part of several protests in Haryana.
Sources reveal that Neelam, preparing for Haryana Civil Services, had been staying as a paying guest in Hisar. Meanwhile, a police team has reached Gurugram for the investigation, detaining Vicky Sharma and his wife Rakhi from Housing Board Colony. The search for Lalit Jha is ongoing, as he is suspected to have possession of the mobile phones of the accused.
The two men who entered the Lok Sabha Hall from the visitors’ gallery were identified as Manoranjan Kumar, an engineering student from Karnataka, and Sagar Sharma, a resident of Lucknow who got his visitor’s pass on the reference of Karnataka’s Mysuru BJP MP, Pratap Simha.
During the protest, Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde were detained by Delhi Police. Amol Shinde, from Latur, Maharashtra, was later grilled by the police at his residence. Both deny affiliation with any organization, asserting that their presence at Parliament was an independent action, as revealed by an officer familiar with the probe.
