
Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Wins National Energy Conservation Award-2023

Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) has secured the second prize in the State Designated Agency (SDA) category (Group-II) of the National Energy Conservation Award-2023. The state achieved a score of 78 points in the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI)-2023. The Honorable President of India, Draupadi Murmu, presented the award to TSREDCO during the National Energy Conservation Day event on December 14, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Neelam Janaiah, Vice Chairman Managing Director of TSREDCO, and T. Srinivasulu, Deputy General Manager, received the prestigious award from the Honorable President. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency categorized Telangana as a Group-II state based on its total final fuel consumption (TFEC) falling between 5 to 15 million tonnes of oil equivalent (Mtoe). The state showed notable improvement, achieving a SEEI score of 78 in 2023, compared to the previous year’s score of 66.


Neelam Janaiah credited the continuous support and guidance from the Telangana Government, state government departments, consumers, and partners for the achievement. He highlighted the government’s initiatives, including the establishment of energy conservation cells in all departments, dedicated budgets for energy efficiency activities, and various awareness sessions and projects to promote energy efficiency.
TSREDCO has played a significant role in implementing the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), promoting energy conservation in residential and commercial buildings, conducting awareness sessions with farmers, and implementing energy efficiency projects in pump sets.

Neelam Janaiah expressed gratitude to the state government, BEE, and collaborating departments for their cooperation in achieving energy efficiency targets. This recognition follows TSREDCO’s previous National Energy Conservation Awards in 2020 and 2022. The corporation remains committed to maintaining excellent performance and achieving energy efficiency goals in the state.
