*Hyderabad:* The Telangana High Court is set to have a new home as the Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, directed officials to prepare for the construction of a state-of-the-art building on a 100-acre plot in Rajendra Nagar, just outside Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to arrange for the foundation stone-laying ceremony next month during a review held on Thursday. Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Justice Alok Aradhe, along with top officials, participated in the review session at the MCRHRD Institute of Telangana in Hyderabad.
The Chief Justice and legal representatives emphasized the urgent need for a new building due to the deterioration of the existing High Court structure. Responding to the concerns raised, the Chief Minister affirmed his commitment and instructed officials to facilitate the necessary preparations.
Given the heritage status of the current High Court building, he acknowledged the importance of its preservation. The Chief Minister assured that the existing structure would undergo renovation and repurposing, potentially serving as a city court or other court facilities.
In addition to the new High Court building, the Chief Justice and legal representatives also appealed to the Chief Minister to take proactive measures for constructing court complexes in the newly formed districts. The move marks a significant step towards providing modern and adequate facilities for the judiciary, addressing concerns about the condition of the current High Court premises.
