BC Welfare Association State Secretary Shanthan Ramaraju Calls for CBI Inquiry into Financial Irregularities of BRS Government
Mahabubabad, December 22
In a significant development, Shantan Ramaraju, the State Secretary of the National BC Welfare Association, joined by Congress district leaders, has written an open letter to Chief Minister Enumula Revanth Reddy, urging a comprehensive inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged financial irregularities of the BRS government in Telangana.
The letter, dated December 22, 2023, raises concerns about the economic downturn in the state despite initially boasting a surplus budget. Ramaraj accuses the government of misleading the public with unnecessary loans, resulting in a staggering debt of around two lakh crores. Expressing dismay, the letter contends that the state’s economic condition has deteriorated due to corruption in projects and the construction of new complexes.
The association laments the lack of justice for Telangana activists, Backward Classes (BCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and other marginalized communities. The promised welfare schemes, intended to uplift these sections, have allegedly not reached the targeted beneficiaries. Ramaraj argues that the state’s development, which began with a surplus budget, has taken a downturn, drawing skepticism from the public.

The letter questions the government’s claims of increasing assets by incurring debts, asserting that the perceived development is merely a result of incremental growth over time. It points out discrepancies in the distribution of free electricity, Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu, Mission Bhagiratha water, and loans, as stated by the BRS government.
In a plea for transparency and accountability, the BC Welfare Association urges Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to initiate a CBI inquiry into the debts incurred by the BRS government. The association emphasizes the need for the public to be informed about the facts surrounding the financial management of the state.
The letter reflects the growing dissatisfaction among various sections of society and demands a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the alleged financial mismanagement.
