Telangana Civil Supplies Department Implements Stricter Criteria for Ration Card Issuance In a recent development, the Civil Supplies Department of Telangana has initiated a comprehensive exercise to issue new ration cards, targeting transparency and efficient distribution of welfare benefits. Key Regulations Introduced for New Ration Card Applications:

1. *Income Tax and Land Ownership Criteria:*

The government has proposed stringent criteria for ration card issuance. Individuals who are currently paying income tax or own land exceeding three and a half acres will be ineligible for new ration cards. Unlike previous practices that restricted the inclusion of family members, the new guidelines will provide an opportunity for the addition of family members during the ration card application process.
