Title: Electrical Hazards Prompt Warning on Serial Lights; Permission Emphasized
Hyderabad, January 12: Recent incidents of fires linked to serial lights have raised concerns, prompting the Electricity Inspection Department to identify potential hazards. The investigation revealed that accidents, including a major one at the CMR showroom in Boduppal, Hyderabad, and a fire at Ankur Hospital building in Attapur, were attributed to low-quality electric poles used in serial light arches.

The Electrical Inspectorate sources pointed to the poor quality of the serial lighting system, citing the use of aluminum plates and cladding with petroleum products in shopping complexes. According to officials, the wires in the serial lighting system melt under increased load, leading to rapid combustion and fire accidents.
Chief Electrical Inspector General Srinivas Rao stated, “Accidents are occurring due to the poor quality of the serial lighting system. Notices have been issued to Ankur Hospital and CMR shopping malls following recent fire incidents. Establishments employing serial lighting systems must obtain permission to ensure safety.”

Authorities stress the importance of obtaining proper permission for installing serial lights to prevent potential hazards associated with substandard electrical materials.
