In Nagole, a 13-year-old boy named Shiva Kumar, an eighth-class student, fell from the terrace of a four-storey building while flying a kite with friends. Suffering grievous injuries, he was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night.

Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL), issued a warning, urging people to avoid flying kites near electricity installations. He highlighted the dangers associated with using metal-coated ‘manja,’ emphasizing its potential for causing electrocution and disrupting the power supply network. Faruqui advised the public to opt for safer alternatives such as cotton, linen, or nylon strings, emphasizing the peril posed by metallic threads as conductors of electricity, potentially leading to electric shocks when in proximity to power lines.
