Government of Telangana Appoints Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara as Advisor to Legislature Secretariat

In a recent development, the Government of Telangana has announced the appointment of Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara as the Advisor to Telangana Legislature Secretariat. The official order, G.O.Rt.No.53, was issued on January 12, 2024.

Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara will assume the role of Advisor from the date of taking charge of the post. The decision comes after careful consideration by the government.

Prasanna Kumar : Accomplished Government Official with 30 Years of Experience Appointed Advisor to Telangana Legislature Secretariat

Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara has been appointed as the Advisor to the Secretariat of the Telangana Legislature, a move aimed at introducing greater professionalism to the functioning of the Legislature. The initiative, approved by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is led by the Presiding Officers Gutha Sukender Reddy and Gaddam Prasad Kumar. With nearly 30 years of diverse experience serving the Government of India, Prasanna Kumar brings a wealth of knowledge about the interplay between the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary.

Having held significant roles in various Constitutional Offices, including serving as OSD to the Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, for five years, Prasanna Kumar played a pivotal role in the establishment of the groundbreaking ‘Lok Sabha TV.’ His contributions extend to over six years as Joint Director and Director in the Office of the Hon’ble Vice-President/Chairman, Rajya Sabha, where he was a founding member of ‘Rajya Sabha TV.’

During his tenure as Secretary to the Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi, Prasanna Kumar earned a reputation for instilling professionalism and initiating consequential reforms in the Legislature’s functioning. His experience also encompasses roles in the Office of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.

Originating from Khammam District, Prasanna Kumar studied in various Government institutions in the district before graduating in Science from the Silver Jubilee Government Residential College, Kurnool. He later obtained M.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a Law degree from the University of Delhi.
