In a significant drug seizure operation, Secunderabad Railway Station GRP and RFF Staff, led by D. Ramesh, SI of Police, apprehended Silpa Naik, a 27-year-old housewife from Mohana Village, Gajapati District, Odisha. The team, during a routine check on Platform No.06 on 17.01.2024, discovered 46 kgs of ganja valued at Rs. 11,50,000/- in her possession.
Silpa Naik revealed during questioning that she ventured into drug transportation to support her financially struggling family after her husband’s demise in 2018. Acting on information from Rajeev Naik, she procured the illegal substance from Mohana forest area. The ganja, divided into 23 packets weighing approximately 2 kgs each, was cleverly concealed in four bags.
The accused had planned to transport the contraband to Mumbai by Devagiri Express train. However, the vigilant police team intercepted her on Platform No.06 of Secunderabad Railway Station around 14:00 hrs on 17.01.2024.

Details of the accused include Silpa Naik (A-2), while Rajeev Kumar (A-1) remains at large. The seized ganja was distributed among four bags: a black men’s handbag, a black and red shoulder bag, a black and brown shoulder bag, and a black and purple shoulder bag.
This operation, conducted under the guidance of Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS, ADGP of Railways & Road Safety, Telangana State, and supervised by Shaik Saleema IPS, Superintendent of Railway Police Secunderabad, saw commendable coordination between GRP Secunderabad and RPF staff. The officers involved, including A.Narsaiah, DSRP Sec’bad Urban, S.A. Emmanuel, IRP/Sec’bad, D.Ramesh SIRP/Sec’bad, K.Nageshwar Rao, RHC-523, Srinivasulu, RHC 135, and G.Ramya, WRPC-107, will be suitably rewarded for their efforts.
