The “South Sena” has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prioritize the development of Bhadrachalam, a town of significant cultural and religious importance in South India, akin to the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the South Sena President Ravi, along with other leaders, emphasized the need for substantial investments and infrastructure development in Bhadrachalam.
Highlighting the historical and religious significance of Bhadrachalam, the letter underscores its association with the Ramayana and Lord Rama’s journey through Dandakaranya. The town is revered for its connection to pivotal moments in the epic, including the abduction of Sita by Ravana and the heroic battle of Jatayu. Despite its sacred status, Bhadrachalam has witnessed limited development, lacking even basic infrastructure like a railway line.
The South Sena’s appeals to the Prime Minister include the establishment of a railway line to Bhadrachalam, sanctioning of new trains, and allocation of funds for infrastructure upgrades in the upcoming budget. Additionally, they advocate for the creation of an airport in Kothagudem to facilitate easier access to Bhadrachalam and the nearby heavy water plant. The South Sena also urges for the designation of Bhadrachalam as a Heritage City and the allocation of Rs. 2,000 crores in the central budget for its development.
The letter serves as a plea to the government to recognize and invest in Bhadrachalam’s rich cultural heritage and to prioritize its holistic development.
