NABARD Telangana Regional Office Hosts State Credit Seminar 2024-25 in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, January 30, 2024 – The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) conducted the State Credit Seminar for the fiscal year 2024-25 at Hyderabad. Tummala Nageswara Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Marketing, Co-operation, and Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Telangana, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

During the seminar, the Hon’ble Minister launched the ‘State Focus Paper 2024-25,’ emphasizing its significance in planning targeted interventions. The event saw the presence of key figures such as M. Raghunandan Rao, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner & Secretary, GoT, Debashish Mitra, SLBC Convenor, SBI, K. Rajendra Prasad, DGM, RBI, along with government officials, senior bankers, and research scientists.

Smt Suseela Chintala, CGM NABARD, Telangana, highlighted the credit potential of Telangana for the Priority Sector in 2024-25, assessed at ₹2,80,000.56 crore. She expressed confidence that the State Focus Paper would aid the State Government, bankers, and stakeholders in planning interventions for Rural and Agri Sectors.

Tummala Nageswara Rao, in his keynote address, commended NABARD’s efforts and stressed the importance of timely credit in agricultural growth. He urged banks to play a pivotal role and sought NABARD’s support in promoting agri exports, dairy infrastructure, rural godowns construction, and marketing of rural produce. The minister also emphasized the need for crop diversification through millet cultivation and value chain development.

The seminar witnessed the inauguration of a Mobile Rural Haat supported by NABARD for marketing agricultural produce. M. Raghunandan Rao applauded NABARD’s initiatives, including Phygital Mobile Agro Support Services and Mobile Sabjee Cooler.

Various dignitaries, including Rajendra Prasad, DGM, RBI, Debashish Mitra, GM, SBI, and SLBC Convenor, Director – NRC Meat Research, Director CRIDA, lauded NABARD’s efforts and shared their insights in their respective areas of expertise.
