The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has taken swift action against Vidyuth Jaisimha, head coach of the senior women’s team, following allegations of misconduct. Jaisimha has been suspended from his coaching duties after reportedly consuming alcohol and misbehaving with female cricketers on the team bus.

HCA president Jagan Mohan Rao has initiated an investigation into the matter and instructed Jaisimha to refrain from participating in any cricketing activities until the investigation is concluded.

An anonymous email received by the HCA, along with circulating videos, allegedly depicted Jaisimha carrying and consuming liquor on the team bus during his coaching assignment with the Hyderabad State team. The seriousness of the allegations prompted the HCA to take immediate action, pending the outcome of the investigation.

“In the interim while the investigation is being carried out, I am directing you to refrain from involving yourself in any cricketing activities on behalf of the HCA,” wrote Jagan Mohan in a letter dated February 16.

The HCA president emphasized that if necessary, criminal action would be pursued against Jaisimha. He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to firm disciplinary measures and stated that individuals found engaging in such behavior would face lifetime bans.

The decision to suspend Jaisimha came after women cricketers reportedly approached the police seeking action against him. The incident occurred while the women’s team was en route from Hyderabad to Vijayawada for a match. Concerns were raised by parents and relatives of the female players, alleging multiple instances of inappropriate behavior and alcohol consumption by the coach.

The HCA has pledged to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure the safety and well-being of all its members, especially its female players.
