Massive Fire Destroys 50 Huts in Karimnagar Town, Telangana
Hyderabad, Feb 20: A devastating fire engulfed at least 50 huts in the bustling area of Subhash Nagar in Karimnagar town, Telangana, on Tuesday. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident.
The affected huts belonged to migrant laborers from districts like Khammam and Warangal. The blaze, fueled by at least five cooking gas cylinders that exploded during the inferno, caused extensive damage to the dwellings.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, with multiple fire engines dispatched to extinguish the flames. Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.
Remarkably, there were no fatalities as most of the residents had temporarily relocated to Medaram in Mulugu district to participate in the Sammakka Sarakka jatara festivities.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, with initial reports suggesting a possible dispute over land ownership. Residents, who had inhabited the area for over two decades, had reportedly resisted efforts to vacate the premises, situated in a crucial commercial zone.
Police are actively probing the circumstances surrounding the blaze to determine its origin and any potential contributing factors.
