Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday, rebutting Gandhi’s claim that the youth in Varanasi have turned to alcoholism.

Addressing a public gathering in Varanasi, PM Modi criticized Gandhi’s statement, stating, “Today, as Uttar Pradesh undergoes transformation and its youth shape their futures, those entrenched in nepotism are growing desperate. The ‘prince’ asserts that UP’s youth are substance abusers. What kind of language is this? Having exhausted their insults against Modi, they now target the youth of UP. These individuals, bereft of sensibility, label the youth of UP and Kashi as addicts. Nepotism, corruption, and appeasement had shackled UP. Yet, its youth are scaling heights through hard work. The people of UP will not forget this affront by Rahul Gandhi to its youth.”

PM Modi also highlighted the transformative projects underway in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing that the state’s future is integral to India’s progress. He pledged to propel India to global supremacy during his third term, emphasizing ongoing infrastructure development and initiatives like Vande Bharat.

The Prime Minister inaugurated several projects aimed at bolstering infrastructure, tourism, and education in Varanasi. Among these were the Banas dairy plant, set to empower women and promote organic farming, and the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the National Centre of Ageing at BHU and inaugurated sports facilities and a new Medical College in Varanasi.
