Sangeet Natak Academy Awards Honor Renowned Artists

The prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi has revealed the recipients of its esteemed accolades for the years 2022 and 2023. Celebrating excellence in various artistic realms, the awards showcase the remarkable contributions of talented individuals.
In a momentous recognition, the renowned Kuchipudi dance maestros, Padma Bhushan Radha Raja Reddy and his spouse, were bestowed with the Fellowship Academy Ratna Puraskar. This esteemed honor includes a cash prize of three lakh rupees along with a distinguished copper certificate.
For the year 2022, the Sangeet Natak Akademi conferred awards upon eminent personalities in the field of arts. Notable among them were Manjula Ramaswamy for Bharatanatyam, Dr. Bhagavathula Sethuram for Kuchipudi, Manda Sudharani for Music, and Usman Mir for Creative Experimental Music.
In the following year, the 2023 awards highlighted exceptional talents including Dr. Maddali Usha Gayatri for Kuchipudi, L. V. Gangadhara Shastry for Bhakti Sangeet, Perini Prakash for Perini Natyam, Rajeev Verma for drama, and B. Mallikarjunarao for makeup artistry. Each recipient was honored with a cash prize of one lakh rupees along with a distinguished copper plate.
Additionally, the Bismillah Khan Youth Awards recognized promising young talents. In 2022, Shweta Prasad and K. Gayathri were honored for their vocal prowess, while T. Reddy Lakshmi was acknowledged for her excellence in Kuchipudi dance. In 2023, M. Surendranath was celebrated for his proficiency in Kuchipudi, alongside Angadi Bhaskar for his remarkable contributions to the folk sector. Each recipient of the Bismillah Khan Youth Award received a prize of 25 thousand rupees.
