The Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship (CfHE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, announced on Wednesday that it had secured $9.6 million (approximately Rs 80 crore) in funding from Sushant Kumar, founder of Tanushree Foundation and ESKEYN Ventures.

This significant investment will enable CfHE, a nationally recognized healthcare technology business incubator, to expedite the development and adoption of innovative healthcare solutions to meet unmet needs and enhance patient outcomes.

In a statement, Kumar expressed his confidence that the substantial investment would empower CfHE to expand its initiatives, providing aspiring healthcare entrepreneurs with the necessary resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to translate innovative ideas into impactful solutions.

The funding will further strengthen CfHE’s efforts to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the healthcare sector, aiming to contribute to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) and Make in India.

B.S. Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, highlighted CfHE’s proactive steps in addressing the gap in healthcare through focused programs in medical devices, human resources development, and startup promotion for indigenous medical device development and innovation.

By fostering collaboration between industry and academia, this partnership is poised to drive transformative changes that benefit society as a whole, CfHE emphasized.
