Investigation into Kaleshwaram and Electricity Irregularities Accelerates

Judicial commissions are ramping up their inquiries into the irregularities surrounding the Kaleshwaram project and electricity purchases in New Zealand. Starting next week, these investigations will be propelled forward with renewed vigor. Expressing dissatisfaction with the prevailing irregularities, the chairpersons of the respective commissions have expedited the process, aiming for prompt report submissions. It is anticipated that both commissions will conclude their inquiries and deliver their reports within 100 days.

Delays Due to Holidays, Investigations Resume

Temporary delays have occurred in the hearings of the judicial commissions due to consecutive holidays, including Ugadi and Ramzan. However, with the conclusion of these holidays, the pace of investigations is set to resume promptly next week. All necessary documents and files have been provided to the commissions, and hearings are expected to take place at the BRK Bhavan.

Thorough Inquiries and Accountability

The chairpersons of the commissions, Justice PC Ghosh and Justice L. Narsimha Reddy, are meticulously reviewing case files and gathering relevant information. They are leaving no stone unturned in their inquiries, ensuring a comprehensive investigation into the alleged irregularities. Notices will be issued to all involved individuals, including former CM KCR, former ministers, and officials from relevant departments.

Massive Scale of Corruption Uncovered

The commissions have been shocked by the enormous scale of corruption revealed in both projects, estimated to be nearly two lakh crores. Expressing dismay at the misallocation of funds and resulting financial losses, they have pledged to hold all responsible parties accountable for these egregious offenses.

Justice Ghosh’s Upcoming Visit

Justice Ghosh, who previously met with irrigation department officials in Kolkata, is scheduled to visit the state next week to formally commence the investigation. His trip, originally planned after Ugadi, was postponed due to personal reasons. Nonetheless, with activities resuming, the investigation into Kaleshwaram irregularities will commence under his leadership.

Medigadda Barrage Inspection

Irrigation ENC B. Nagender Rao has confirmed that there has been no further deterioration in the condition of the Medigadda barrage. Local engineering officials have conducted inspections, affirming that the structure remains stable. However, a vigilance inquiry is ongoing regarding the damage to the barrage, with officials working diligently to compile a comprehensive report. Despite challenges, efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in these critical projects remain a top priority.
