“Cyberabad’s Special Operations Team (SOT), in collaboration with the Balanagar team and Sanatnagar police, conducted a successful operation resulting in the apprehension of a youth, identified as Bachala Lokesh, hailing from Srikakulam. The arrest took place at the Erragadda Bharatnagar flyover under the jurisdiction of Sanatnagar Police Station. During the operation, authorities seized a significant amount of ganja, weighing 2.3 kg, with an estimated street value of Rs.57,500.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Lokesh, aged 21, had migrated to Hyderabad from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh in search of employment opportunities. He had been residing in the Motinagar area and was engaged in house construction work to sustain himself. However, driven by the allure of higher profits, Lokesh decided to delve into the illegal trade of ganja, recognizing the demand for the substance in the city.
Lokesh confessed to sourcing the ganja from a supplier named Naresh, who is currently evading authorities. The investigation into Naresh’s whereabouts is ongoing. The seized items not only included the 2.3 kg of ganja but also a mobile phone valued at Rs.10,000, bringing the total worth of the confiscated property to Rs.67,500.
Sanatnagar Police have taken charge of the case and are diligently pursuing leads to unravel the entire network involved in the illicit trafficking of narcotics. This successful operation underscores the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the menace of drug trafficking and maintain law and order in the region.”
