Hyderabad, May 15 : Following the conclusion of polling for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, the state’s major political players – Congress, BRS, and BJP – have expressed unwavering confidence in securing a majority of seats.

The ruling Congress, opposition BRS, and the BJP have all claimed victory in the aftermath of the polls, with each party asserting its dominance in the electoral landscape.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed confidence in the Congress’s prospects, anticipating victory in 12-13 seats, while BJP’s national vice-president D.K. Aruna projected a win of 12 seats for his party, with Aruna herself voicing assurance in her own electoral success from Mahabubnagar constituency.

Meanwhile, BRS’s working president K.T. Rama Rao asserted that his party would clinch more Lok Sabha seats than both the Congress and BJP, citing alleged dissatisfaction among voters towards the ruling Congress over unfulfilled promises made during the Assembly elections.

Rama Rao also predicted a scenario where neither the BJP-led NDA nor the Congress-led INDIA bloc would secure a clear majority at the Centre, emphasizing the potential pivotal role of regional parties like BRS, YSR Congress Party, and Biju Janata Dal in the government formation process.

Despite some defections within the BRS ranks, Rama Rao praised the dedication of the party cadre and their relentless efforts in supporting party candidates.

On the other hand, BJP MP K. Laxman interpreted the voting trend as overwhelmingly favorable towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting a pro-incumbency sentiment among voters. Laxman attributed this sentiment to Modi’s track record of fulfilling promises and avoiding populist pledges.

Laxman confidently predicted a landslide victory for the BJP, envisioning the party securing 370 seats while the NDA surpasses the 400-mark. He also dismissed the Congress’s chances of becoming the main opposition, citing the BJP’s strong performance in the polls.

As Telangana awaits the election results, the assertions and optimism of these political parties set the stage for an intriguing post-poll scenario in the state.
