Bengaluru, May 23: On Thursday, a significant outage disrupted several Microsoft services globally, including India. The affected services included Bing Search, Copilot, ChatGPT, and others. Users turned to social media platforms to report the widespread issues, which also impacted third-party services like the search engine DuckDuckGo, which relies on Microsoft’s infrastructure.
In India, users reported problems accessing these services, particularly in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, about 57% of users reported issues accessing the Bing website, 34% experienced problems with search functionality, and 9% had trouble with login.
“It’s not just you: Microsoft’s services are down in some regions. #Bing is down, #Copilot/Copilot in Windows is down. DuckDuckGo is not working because it uses Bing. Similarly, ChatGPT’s internet search is also down,” one user posted on X.
Another user wrote, “Microsoft Copilot and Bing Down: Users Encounter Connection Errors.” A third user added, “Anyone else having problems with Bing? I keep getting this today.”
Although Microsoft has not officially commented on the outage, it appears that the majority of the affected services have now been restored and are available to users worldwide.
